This is my 22nd year of teaching, first at WMS. I grew up in Southern Arizona, but spent my summers in Southern New Jersey with my father. My wife and I moved from Henderson, Nevada to Olympia in 2013 for her veterinary dermatology practice. It has been a great move for both of us. We love Washington!
I received my bachelor's degree at the University of Arizona in history and my master's degree from Arizona State University in media & instructional technology. In addition, I have endorsements in gifted education and school library science from Sierra Nevada College and University of Nevada, Las Vegas respectively.

On my weekends, my wife and I love to go to movies, read, work on our computers and go on hikes with our dogs. I also love to play tennis, though I'm not very good. We also love to travel. We've been to Hawaii, Poland, Austria, Spain, New Zealand, and Australia. Next summer,
I am really looking forward to working with WMS's students and staff this year. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions at mcoyner@osd.wednet.edu.
